Co chystá podzimní Agharta Jazz Festival

Victor Wooten Band (http://www.victorwooten.com/) Jeden z technicky nejzdatnějšcíh baskytaristů současnosti. Člen výjimečných Flecktones banjisty Bély Flecka přijede do Prahy se svou téměř výhradně rodinnou kapelou.

US3 (http://www.us3.com/) Kapela proslavená především remakem Hancockovy skladby Cantaloop Island..."funky funky"! Osobitá fůze jazzu a hip-hopu.

Spyro Gyra (http://www.spyrogyra.com/) Spyro Gyra has consistently been one of the commercially successfully pop-jazz groups of the past 20 years. Although originally a studio group, the band became a full-time venture in 1979 and has been touring ever since. Critics love to attack this band's lightweight and rarely changing music, which combines R&B and elements of pop and Caribbean music with jazz, but its live performances are often stimulating — unlike many of its records, which emphasize the danceable melodies at the expense of improvising.

Richard Bona (http://www.bonatology.com/) - Vynikající baskytarista a zpěvák mistrně kombinující jazz s hudbou z rodného Kamerunu. Mimo jiné jste ho mohli slyšet na albech Pata Methenyho, Bobbyho McFerrina, Joe Zawinula, Randyho Breckera, Lee Ritenoura, Mike Sterna a dalších...

Gary Burton/ Richard Galliano Quartet
Gary Burton is one of the two great vibraphonists to emerge in the 1960s (along with Bobby Hutcherson), Gary Burton's remarkable four-mallet technique (best displayed on an unaccompanied version of "No More Blues" from 1971) can make him sound like two or three players at once. He recorded in a wide variety of settings and always sounds distinctive. Self-taught on vibes, Burton made his recording debut with country guitarist Hank Garland when he was 17, started recording regularly for RCA in 1961, and toured with George Shearing's quintet in 1963. He gained some fame while with Stan Getz's piano-less quartet during 1964-1966, and then put together his own groups.

Accordionist Richard Galliano did for European folk — specifically, the early-20th-century French ballroom dance form known as musette — what his mentor Astor Piazzolla did for the Argentinean tango. Galliano re-imagined and revitalized a musical tradition, expanding its emotional range to reflect modern sensibilities, and opening it up to improvisation learned through American jazz. In fact, Galliano was more of a jazz musician than a folk one, although he blurred the lines so much that distinctions were often difficult to make. Born in France of Italian stock, Galliano began playing accordion (as his father did) at a young age. He later picked up the trombone, and studied composition at the Academy in Nice.
